Michael Ernest Schranzer
Michael Ernest Schranzer merges art, space, and photography into a distinctive and expressive visual language.
Strongly influenced from an early age by the world of interior design and the family business, he developed a refined sensitivity for proportion, materiality, and spatial atmosphere. At the age of 18, he presented his first collection - a defining moment that profoundly shaped his artistic path.
Today, international influences, years of experience in the interior sector, and photography as an additional medium naturally flow into his work. His bespoke wall compositions, always created in dialogue with architecture and space, remain at the core of his artistic practice.
His style moves between classical elegance and contemporary expression. Traditional elements meet modern perspectives, forming works that reveal transformation, personality, and artistic evolution.
His works are not an addition to a space, they define it.
Two Perspectives. One Connection.
More than ten years ago, he met Andrea — a professionally trained photographer, creative free thinker, and today his partner in life.
Over the years, this personal connection naturally evolved into a close artistic relationship. Both pursue an experimental and open-minded approach, continuously inspiring one another in their creative work, each with a distinct and unmistakable artistic voice.
Their different perspectives open new ways of seeing and subtly enrich their work, while preserving the individuality and expressive strength of each artist.
Andrea Mühlbacher
After graduating from the College for Photography at the Ortweinschule, numerous creative projects and a wide range of commissioned works followed.
In order to further develop her photographic and technical skills, she later attended the Academy of Applied Photography. During this time, many independent works and collections were created, including Standstill and Trees Longing to Become a Cloud.
Alongside her artistic practice, Andrea works together with Michael at Wohnstudio Schranzer. Her focus lies in colour consultation, the curation of materials, and the search for the perfect wallpaper — always guided by a refined sense for atmosphere, harmony, and spatial impact.
Her work combines photographic sensitivity with a strong understanding of spaces, materials, and moods.
